After years of being told there’s no way to get rid of cellulite, doctors are seeing great results with Cellfina.

How does it work? First, your doctor will mark your cellulite dimples. Then, a small suction-stabilizer is used to pull the skin taut and stretch the cellulite-causing bands into an optimal position for treatment. A local numbing agent is administered before your doctor uses a specialized handpiece to target the bands and release them.

After the treatment, patients experience minimal discomfort. Doctors say they’re able to go about their day, but should try and take it easy for up to 24 hours. The most common side effects reported by the FDA study were soreness and bruising, but 90 percent of patients had no bruising four weeks after the procedure. ..

Galderma, the brand behind fillers like Restylane, Dysport and Sculptra Aesthetic, announced today the FDA approval of two new fillers to the Restylane category: Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne. The products are designed to help smooth out smile and laugh lines while maintaining a natural look. The launches also make the third and forth FDA approvals received by the brand’s Aesthetic and Corrective division in just two and a half years.

Unlike other fillers that are already on the market, Restylane Defyne and Restylane Refyne incorporate a special XpresHAn technology, deeming these products as next-generation hyaluronic acid fillers.
